Schindler's List

This is yet another great movies that I have seen. It makes me think of how horrible war can be and how fortunate that we as Malaysian live in a rather peaceful country. For 6 years, 600million Jews has been killed in this mascara, only 4000 Jews are alive after the killing. This is what people called ethnic cleansing...I don't get this idea and I hope I will never do...how can n human being been so ruthless and cruel, how can this sort of things happened?

For my visit to Cambodia, we went to the killing field and the genocide museum in Pnome Penh on the 4th/last day of our trip there. Theirs is also a kind of ethnic cleansing by the Pol Pots, a native tribe there...and again for political reason. Many are killed throughout the 3 years + ruling there.

In Malaysia, many are kills during the Japanese occupancy, 3 years 8 months...it's a horrible horrible time...i remember doing a project for my Form 3 assignments and going around interviewing the older generation of people who went through this terrible ordeal. I was too young then to realize that this is such a terrible incident happening in the world...not until we saw the visual photos of the cruelty of the Japanese army then...

In this new world, 21st century, I really hope for world peace...If you can't really appreciate it now, please go and watch movies or documentaries or a visit to the museum to see this...I can guarantee you that, those visual impacts will really stay with you, in your heart and soul...

Movie sypnosis:
In 1940s Poland, the German conquerers have issued new anti-Jewish directives. All Jews must leave the countryside and concentrate in the major cities. They are crammed into the "Jewish Quarter" of town, in this case Krakow. They are relieved that the Nazis have not killed them, but life is very hard in the Ghetto.

Enter Oskar Schindler (Liam Neeson), a scam artist from the German part of Czechoslovakia. He arrives in Krakow, intent on making his fortune as part of the "new order." He spreads money freely among the SS and Nazi hierarchy, and eventually makes contact with Itzhak Stern (Ben Kingsley), a Jewish businessman. Stern agrees to raise money for Schindler to buy a cookware factory in exchange for product to trade on the black market. Schindler is "Director", but Stern actually runs the operation.

Things go well for Schindler until the Nazis decide to remove all Jews to concentration camps. A new one is built not far from Krakow, and the Jews are forcibly removed there. Schindler quickly realizes that his slave-labor force is at risk, and comes to an accommodation with the camp commander, the sociopathic SS officer Amon Goeth (Ralph Fiennes). Schindler is allowed to continue using people on a "list," and these will not be send off to the death camps. An equilibrium is again reached, though conditions in the camp are even worse than in the Krakow Ghetto.

As the war progresses, the SS becomes increasing frantic in its efforts to implement the "final solution." Goeth begins sending increasing numbers of people to Auschwitz, and Schindler's people are again at risk. Stern reminds his boss that the List is all that stands between them and extermination. Schindler even has to rescue Stern and a trainload of his workers from the gas chambers at one point.

Realizing that Poland is too dangerous, Schindler buys a munitions factory in his native Czechoslovakia and moves "his" people there. Several hundred Jews are saved by his actions, though the bribes and other expenses required to do this bankrupt Schindler, who was wealthy at the height of the war. In the end, Schindler is ruined, but the people on his List are saved.

Cambodia Part 3

Just went for dinner and thought of the day market that we went to at Cambodia. Their food is pretty exotic and I never try any of the below mentioned.
Crab in SPECIAL sauce...ewww...
Fruit in SPECIAL sauce...the smell is really sour and spicy...again, don't have the guts to eat it...

Popular food in the market...

Cambodia Part 2

Day 1 after arrival, we were fetched to this art gallery/workshop where all the cambodian artist/workers assemble and produce arts: paintings, sculpture and etc which is famous for at Angkor Wat.

It is rather an impressive work done as mostly they use very minimal tool to produce the art works and some even use their bare hands to produce beautiful sculpture and paintings.

In the photo above, the young man was using his bare hand to rub the carvings on the woods. The hand is believed to produce a natural oilment that can smoothen and rub in the shine on their piece of arts...It's a long process which require delicacy and patience...

Next, we visited the area where most of the workers are ladies where they draw paintings of legendary man and woman of the 10-12th century. Paintings of Apsara (goddess) is really very popular here. They are hailed as a creature of both gracefulness and beauty.

This is where the sculpture where golden dust was used to produce that nice piece of paintings...
Workers working on the stone...
Almost done....
Done...this is the examiner who will check the finish product and act as a quality control guy...

Adidas...

Recently my running shoes got torned on me during my trip to Cambodia...hence I was trying to find a good pair of running shoes to replace that...went shopping with my friends today and was passing by these shoe shops and you know, being a girl, beauty is something which is important to us...I was really smitten by this pair of shoe I saw in the Adidas shop.

Check out Adidas commercial in their webpage...there are all kinds of shoes, running shoes, hiking, tennis, cross track shoes, football, etc... Check out the "leng zhai" too...my God...men who play sports are really very cute...

I really would like to see Adidas in SocialSpark sponsoring some of my blog posts so that I can finally have the chance to save some money and buy a pair of their shoes. It is not cheap but I do like their design, their colour.

Check out the advertisement on the women shoes...it really attracts people like me wanting to wear their shoes...look at the girl in the picture...I would kill to do posts like the one as above...been gaining some weights lately...really need that pair of shoes to motivate me to do some exercise....really all this working but no play is taking a toll on me...

Ah....hopefully SocialSpark.com will be able to pull Adidas in to be one of the sponsor...hey there's no harm in getting that extra pair of good looking shoes!

CRISS ANGEL Believe

I have never watch this kind of shows before in Malaysia...What...what kind...well, you can have a look at the photos taken from the site of CRISS ANGEL Believe™.

It will be a haunting exploration deep inside the inventive mind of mystifier Criss Angel as he hovers between the land of the living and a surreal world uniquely woven together by the distinctive imaginations of Criss Angel and Cirque du Soleil.

Unlike traditional magic-themed shows, CRISS ANGEL Believe™ transcends any preconceived notion of what it means to be emotionally engaged by the arts of mysticism and illusion. Imagine a fantasy, an allegory, a highly theatrical tableau of mood, reverie and emotion set against a backdrop of dreamlike darkness and light.

Criss Angel stars as a surreal, enigmatic Victorian Noble. Along a path of imaginative exploration, he encounters Kayala and Crimson, two women who represent different aspects of femininity, four bizarre Ushers, who will introduce the audience to the baroque theater of Criss’s mind and a high-energy troupe of characters and dancers who mix a multitude of styles into a high-energy visual feast, punctuated by moments of grace and sensuality.

The stunning illusions in CRISS ANGEL Believe™ will not be presented as standalone elements, but as interdependent components using heightened imagery, fantastical creatures and impossible feats of legerdemain, all of which will be integrated into the dazzling, colorful fabric of the story.

Uhm...Really hope they can come over to Malaysia for a show....

Work from home, raise your children and make some money.

Have you recently have the feeling of working like a cow?
Yea, I have....Me, a single and young adult feeling just like throwing the towel in even though I have just been working for 4 years ++, can you imagine with the retirement age increasing year by year (Malaysia- 56 years old by law), I will still have to work for another 30 years....unthinkable isn't it?!

So, what if you have a lot of commitment and have a family (especially with small kids to take care of), can't imagine how you guys will feel. I know it's for a fact that it's kinda hard for mummy to work 12 hours in the office and still be expected to come home energized to take care of kids. I understand this as I have seen my mum struggle to raise me up single handedly. It's not a very fun experience for the mum nor the child.
So, can Doraemon help? Well, if there really is a Doraemon (by the way, it's a Japansese anime about this cat from outer space that can do anything your heart desire), I will need one...just imagine as per the photo shown above, Doraemon sitting in for you in office instead of you and slaving for the boss...isn't it a beautiful sight?

Unfortunately, there's no real Doraemon in this world, so what we can do?

Instead of slaving at work and come home to a hungry and tantrum throwing children, do you wish that you can work full time at home? To have sometime for yourself and your baby? family? Here's how, blogging!

Nowadays, a lot of woman quit their job to take care of their family. However with whatever time left off from taking care of your family physically and mentally, you will still need some vitamin M (money) to motivate yourselves.

Introducing blogging in SocialSpark for Mummy! SocialSpark

Here is some of the thing you can do on SocialSpark such as taking Sponsorship Post opportunity, Blog Sponsorship or Spark opportunity. What does all these really meant? Well, you have to check the link provided in this post to check it out. Believe me, you won't regret it!

Gnome...blinking Gnome?

The beauty of internet has serves human kind very well throughout the years. There's lots of educational and leisure pursuit that we can utilize the internet for. Internet gaming is one of the leisure that has been around since the existence of internet.

Free gaming has been one of the best features of internet gaming. Recently I came across this game called Bling Gnome

To run this Free Online Game, you need to download the software called Dungeon Runners.
Bling Gnome from the Dungeon Runner's game is a tugged out gnome straight out of the 90's that turns your unwanted items into gold and shovels it up. You can literally watch the gnome pop a GOLDEN squat when you need your items.

Check out Bling Gnome and see what these pimped out bling gnomes can do!

A gnome is a mythical creature characterized by its extremely small size and subterranean free lifestyle.

The word gnome is derived from the New Latin gnomus. It is often claimed to descend from the Greek gnosis, "knowledge", but more likely comes from genomos "earth-dweller", in which case the omission of e is, as the OED calls it, a blunder. It is also possible that Paracelsus simply made the word up.

Paracelsus includes gnomes in his list of elementals, as earth elementals. He describes them as two spans high, and very taciturn.[1]

In Folklore

Often featured in Germanic fairy tales, including those by the Brothers Grimm,[2] the gnome often resembles a gnarled old man, living deep underground, who guards buried treasure.[3] Because of this, Swiss bankers are sometimes disparagingly referred to as the Gnomes of Zürich. Gnomes feature in the legends of many of central, northern and eastern European lands by other names: a kaukis is a Prussian gnome, tomten in Sweden, and barbegazi are gnome-like creatures with big feet in the traditions of France and Switzerland. In Iceland, gnomes (vættir) are so respected that roads are re-routed around areas said to be inhabited by them.[4] Some confusion arises as the gnome is one of many similar but subtly different creatures in European folklore; mythical creatures such as goblins and dwarves are often represented as gnomes, and vice versa.

Individual gnomes are not very often detailed or featured as characters in stories, but in Germanic folklore, Rübezahl, the lord over the underworld, was sometimes referred to as a mountain gnome.[5] According to some traditions, the gnome king is called Gob.[citation needed]

Cambodia Part 1

We actually bought the package to Cambodia in the March MATTA fair, it cost us around RM1200 for a 4 days 3 nights trip.
The main attraction of Cambodia-Angkor Wat in Siem Reap (1 of the 7th wonder of the world).

The 4 of us take the earliest flight to Siem Reap by checking in at 5am at LCCT...we didn't even sleep the whole night as we begin fetching each other up by 3.30am and by the time all of us gather together, we drove 1 hour+ to the airport....It's quite nice....

Fast forward, the flight to Cambodia last 2 hours. Their time is prior to our time by 1 hour, so even though we depart by 7am and reach by 9am, their local time is showing 8am.

This is one of the statue that we encounter in the air port and is the main attraction in Angkor Wat. This is a 7th headed snake dragon...it's origination from Hinduism. By the way, Cambodian believe in odd numbers unlike most of the Chinese population.

This is the encryption underneath the scripture of the 7th headed snake dragon.

My birthday

Was looking through my photo album to sort through the photos taken on my trip to Cambodia. Notice that I have some photo on my birthday that have not been posted in the blog. So here it is: -
Celebrated my 27th birthday at Chilis, KLCC....
Birthday gift from my roommate....
Birthday gift from my unimate...I really like this...he is accompanying me every night...while I sleep... :)

If it's your birthday today....Happy birthday!

E=MC² (Mariah Carey album)

  • Name the title of Mariah Carey's latest album.

E=MC²

  • What does the equation in the title stand for?
The album name means "(E) Emancipation (=) equals (MC) Mariah Carey (²) to the second power". It is a play on Einstein's famous mass–energy equivalence formula

First, a little facts about Mariah's new album

E=MC²
is the eleventh studio album by American R&B singer Mariah Carey. The album was released on April 15, 2008 in the United States.[4] It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 463,000 copies sold, making it the biggest opening week sales of her career. The album stayed at number one for two consecutive weeks. The first single from the album, "Touch My Body", reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and "Bye Bye" has reached within the Top 20 so far.

I am really a fan of Mariah Carey, since I was in Form 2 (1994). I like all her album and the songs....nobody can really sing like her, write songs like her, lyrics and produce album like her. There was a few times when people listen in disbelief that I am her fan because all they see is her sexy photos and revealing outfits...well I know her better before she change her image and dressing sense...the most important thing is her voice never change, if yes, only for the better...

Whenever I am feeling down, dispirit, I'll listen to her songs, such as hero...when I fall in love, I like her songs-emotions, dream lover...when I feel like dancing, I listen to her songs, all the classics, she sing it all...work with Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston..

She was backup singer for singers such as babyface before and she went through a lot before becoming as successful as she is now. She's not just beautiful but talented...Way to Go Mariah!

Leng chai...

Most of my friends always tease me about the kind of guys I am interested in. Ok, ok...so I am a bit old fashioned, so I fancy the 70s kinda look guys, so what?! Really, it does not mean that the guys in this century is not good looking, it's just that I prefer the look of a mature guy, u know...uhm...like uh...don't know what their name call but saw them a few times in the tv before when I was small...one of them in 秦汉 (Qin Han).

Why? Because I like the kind of face that when I looked at it, I know it's bad guy or good guy. Nowadays it's kinda hard to tell...he might look gentle but he's a monster inside or vice versa.

Ok, to prove that I am not bias, this also applicable to girlslar..I do think the olden days girls are nicer to look at. There are just simple, pure and sweet. Example? Joey Wong...my favorite example, hehe..

To make piece with all the people out there who think that I have just insulted their ego on this...I would like to prove that I am really a generalist about beauty...beauty from the heart is more important to me, really. I can and will vouched for this as I am not a typical leng lui myself...they said you don't have the right to demand in others what you don't have...so, that's it, I am not even demanding...leng chai is just to feast my eyes...nothing more.. In fact, I'll rather be friend with them...coz you'll feel so unsecure if they are your boy friend.

The modern leng chai and leng lui of my choice?

BookFest KLCC 24 May to 1 June 2008

Last Friday, I went to the BookFest held in KLCC. This is the 2nd time I went to the book fest. My first experience was not a good one as I find out the book there is no more cheaper than the normal book store. (Naturally when there's a book fest, one will naturally presume that the books there will be much cheaper.)

However, I have a much improved experience this time around. I actually bought 4 books there and it just costs me around MYR50. It's definitely a bargain. Furthermore, I get my self lucky with incredible freebies when I sign up to be a Malaysian Blogger at the STAR booth.

Yeah...

Everyone get this when they pay for the entrance fee of MYR2
Close up on freebies...yea...proud to be a Malaysian!

Think this is a good book to read...though haven't have the time to read carefully...all Malaysian drive should have this...haha

Narnia Craze...actually not a bad movie at all...I like Peter...he's boyishly handsome and a King at his age...wow...

Yea...gonna watch this at Genting...have to book a hotel room first...coz it starts quite late...

4 books I bought under MYR50...not bad at all!
